Truffle

Truffles are a type of chocolate specialty, made with a chocolate ganache covered with cocoa powder or chopped nuts. They were invented in 1895 in Chambéry (France) by the pastry chef Louis Duffour who was running out of chocolate and decided to mix cream, vanilla and cacao powder to replace it. The name comes from their ressemblance to the Truffle fungi, with their dark brown color and spherical shape.
