Steam Cake

Steam cakes (also called Mushi-Pan) are traditional Japanese cakes. The difference with muffins is that they are not baked but steamed which gives them a unique moist and soft texture. Steam cakes can be either sweet or savoury, depending on the ingredients added in the dough. One of the most popular recipes is "Satsumaimo" steam cakes, made with sweet potatoes.
